About About Me:

Tom Navin

This is my awesome webpage that I threw together in about three minutes. So awesome, in fact, that it isn't recommended that you view this page unless you're absolutely certain that the sheer awesomeness of it won't blow off your fat, screaming face. If your name isn't Bruce Willis, I highly suggest you hit the back button on your browser now before you hurt yourself.

Background
I'm currently a senior Computer Science major at UCCS. This means that I type stuff into the computer and sometimes the computer does what I want it to do. Usually, though, it doesn't and I get really bummed out until 3 AM when I suddenly realize that I mixed up two lines of code or something equally inane. I currently have at least some experience with C, C++, Java, Pearl, and HTML, all of which are extremely exciting.

VAST Lab
Currently I'm working on the C2Fuse project, with my primary role being to generate lots of boring documentation that nobody ever reads. Interestingly enough, it's something I enjoy anyway, probably because I'm masochistic.

Schedule
Currently my other job as a Best Buy sales associate is taking up far more time than I desire, since it apparently is acceptable to give part-time workers 15 hours outside of his or her availability every week when the full-timers go on vacation. So since I'm working nearly 30 hours a week there selling mean old women cameras, availability in the lab suffers a little bit. Since my work load is already high (I'm also involved with Dr. Chamillard's game creation workshop for highschool students), I'm only able to put in between 10 and 15 hours a week at the lab currently. Usually I work those hours on days that I'm unavailable at Best Buy, being Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday. Hopefully the time I can devote to the VAST lab will increase as soon as Best Buy fills the remaining positions in my department. Because most of my work lies in documentation rather than coding, I'm not in the lab as frequently as some of my coworkers. Still, I'm more than happy to help out with any situation at hand, so feel free to contact me whenever you like.

Contact Info
Usually my inbox is flooded with love notes from all 27 of my secret supermodel admirers, but I've become remarkably efficient at picking through them to find email of greater importance. If there is anything I can do for you at anytime pretty much ever, drop me an email at or call my cell phone at 641-0816.
