Nature's beauty

by Terrance Boult

The daylight fades, the flowers close,
Up does the moon, as down the dew.
The wind seals petals from a rose,
I close my eyes and thing of you.
A doe calls out, her buck answers back
The meet anon and love anew.
I see this and my mind goes back
To the first time that I met you.
Nature's beauty is clean and pure,
It shines in thee as clear as day.
This is one reason, I am sure
That I'm drawn near and bid to say:
I love you more than you could know
And given chance would prove it so.
